- Two-time NCAA Champion (1989 and 1991), seven-time All-American, 11-time Big Eight champion and two-time “Outstanding Performer” at the league outdoor meet
- The Drake Relays Hall of Famer (class of 2012) won the 800 meters four times in Des Moines’ premiere track event
- Nakiyingi helped ISU win the 1990 Big Eight Cross Country meet and she placed 15th as an individual in the 1989 NCAA Cross Country meet
- Qualified for the 1988 Olympics, but was not allow to run because of errors made by her nation’s Olympic Committee
