The Cyclones (8-16), who trailed 2-0 at one point, took their first lead of the game as
Charissa Carlin (4-4) picked up the win for ISU after tossing 4.1 innings and allowing no runs on five hits in relief of starter Amie Ford.
Freshman Alex Johnson went 2-for-3 as her hitting streak reached five games. Another freshman, Courtney Wray drove in the Cyclones' first run and finished 1-for-3. Senior outfielder Katie Reichling drove in the other run on a fielder's choice.
The Broncos jumped out to a lead after scoring single runs in the first and third innings before the Cyclones' offense got going in the bottom of the third.
In the third, Fallon Johnson singled to lead off the inning and came around to score on Wray's single. Wray then beat the throw home on Reichling's fielder's choice to knot the score at 2-2.
The Broncos had runners in scoring position in the final three innings but Carlin was able to get out of each inning unscathed, while the Cyclones took advantage of their opportunity in the seventh.
