Iowa State Places 77 on Fall Academic All-Big 12 Team

AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference announced the 2024 Fall Academic All-Big 12 Team and Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll members. Student athletes in men's and women's cross country, football, soccer and volleyball were honored.
A total of 77 ISU student-athletes were placed on the Academic All-Big 12 Team. Cyclone football tied for the conference lead with 37 honorees.
Iowa State also placed 337 on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Ernie Mattson (men's cross country), Riley Beach (women's cross country), Kiki Connell (women's cross country), Vince Benetti (football), Beau Freyler (football), Jack Sadowsky (football), Tripp Walsh (football), Lauren Hernandez (soccer), Magda Keck (soccer) and Leia Khairy (soccer) all registered 4.00 GPAs over the semester.
To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher either cumulative or over the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible.
