NEW YORK — Iowa State senior Joshua Jefferson and junior Milan Momcilovic have been invited to the 2026 NBA Draft Combine. The Cyclone pair is among 73 players that have been invited to the event May 10-17 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.
Additionally, Cyclone senior Tamin Lipsey has been invited to the AWS NBA G League Draft Combine 2026, which will take place May 8-10 at Wintrust Arena. A select number of players from the NBA G League Draft Combine will be invited to participate in the 2026 NBA Draft Combine following that event.
Jefferson, the fifth consensus All-American in program history, was Mr. Do-It-All for the Cyclones. He was the first player in Big 12 history to turn in multiple triple-doubles in Big 12 play. He averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game. He's the only Power Conference player in the country to average those numbers this season. Only seven players have done so in an entire season in the country going back to 1974-75, with no one in the Big 12 having accomplished it. Jefferson scored in double figures in 34 games this season, the third-most games in double figures in a season in school history. His streak of 40-straight games going back to last season ranked as the second-longest in the nation before going down with an injury in the opening minutes of the NCAA Tournament. His 167 assists this season were tied for the 19th-most in program history, while his 276 over the last two seasons were the 18th-most in program history for a career.
Momcilovic is regarded as the best shooter in the country and proved it all season. He was 136-of-279 from 3-point range, setting the Iowa State single-season mark in 3-pointers that was previously held by Dedric Willoughby with 102. His 136 3-pointers were also the second-most in a season in Big 12 history. He set the Cyclone single-season 3-point percentage record as well, shooting 48.7 percent on the year. He made 64 3-pointers in Big 12 play, tied for the third-most in a season in league history. He had 12 games this season, and 14 in his career, with five or more made 3-pointers, both the most in school history. He is one of four Cyclones that have made 250 3-pointers in their career. He hit a 3-pointer in the final 25 games of his career, becoming the only player in school history with multiple streaks over 19 games.
Lipsey, a three-time Big 12 All-Defensive Team selection, averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game this season. He is the only Power Conference player in the country to average those numbers since 2022 and the first Cyclone to do so since Tyrese Haliburton in 2019-20. His 3.33 assist-to-turnover ratio is the seventh-best in school history, while his 2.3 steals per game is eighth in school history. He ranks fourth in school history with 77 steals this season, while his six games with five-plus steals are the most in school history.
