Chloe Sanders Signs with the Cyclones

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State has signed its fourth freshman of the summer, as Head Coach Alli St. John announced the addition of Vinton-Shellsburg's Chloe Sanders.
Sanders, the winningest high school female in Iowa history, is ISU's second 138-pound addition. She will compete with William Penn transfer Esther Kolawole for the 138 slot.
The Cyclones now have a roster of 17 athletes, with 13 coming via the transfer portal and four from the high school ranks.

Sanders, one of the most prolific female wrestlers in Iowa high school history, comes to Iowa State with a 219-12 prep record. Of her 219 wins, she secured 168 of them via fall. She tallied a perfect 58-0 record in her senior season, winning the 135-pound state title in 1A.
A four-time State Place Winner, Sanders earned her first state title in February of 2026 to become the first Vinton-Shellsburg girl to win a state title. She was a four-time WaMaC Conference champion and a two-time WaMaC Wrestler of the Year. Following her undefeated senior season, Sanders was named the 2026 Dan Gable 1A Ms. Wrestler of the Year.
