2006 (Senior):
Played and started all 51 games at shortstop ... was 3-for-3 on stolen bases on the season ... had five multiple hit games ... recorded a five-game hitting streak at one point in the season ... led team with eight sacrifice hits ... hit .217 on the season, recording her 100th career hit with a single against Texas A&M ... hit her only home run of the season against Iowa ... went 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored in ISU's win over Nebraska ... led the Cyclones to a win over Oklahoma, going 2-for-2 with two RBI ... recorded two hits against Texas Tech.
2005 (Junior):
Played and started in 49 games ... fifth on the team with a .226 batting average ... tallied 31 hits and scored 16 runs ... hit her first career home run against Northern Iowa and added her second against South Dakota State ... smashed eight doubles, second best on the team and accumulated 17 RBI, third on the squad ... led the team in assists with 113 ... finished the regular season with a six-game hitting streak, including a 2-for-4 performance against No. 8 Baylor.
2004 (Sophomore):
Played and started in 42 games ... was fifth on the team with a .205 batting average ... had an average of .275 in Big 12 games only ... had 24 hits, four doubles, nine runs and nine RBI ... had two hits, two runs and two RBI against Northern Iowa ... had two hits and three RBI against Texas Tech ... had five putouts against College of Charleston.
2003 (Freshman):
Played and started in all 47 games ... batted .225, fifth on the team ... had 25 hits, one double, four runs and three RBI ... had 59 putouts and 98 assists ... also had six walks ... was named ISU's Defensive Player of the Year.
High School:
As a senior, she lead her squad to a 14-6 overall record ... was a three-time first-team all-San Andreas League honoree ... was named to the Valley View all-tournament team in 2001 ... team was Valley View Tournament Champions in 2001 ... named to the San Andreas league All-Star team in 2002 ... played for the California Pirettes of the Amatuer Softball Association (ASA) from 1996-2001 and played for the 18 and Under Gold American Pastime from 2001-02 ... coached by Joe Montes in high school and by Ron Gilagyi, George Trumbull and Larry Farnworth in the ASA ... also earned three letters in water polo.

Daughter of Stan and Anne Akins ... has a brother, Danny (24), and two sisters, Kim (26) and Christine (28) ... exercise and sport science major ... born Sept. 22, 1983.

Favorite food is cheese pizza without tomato sauce, least favorite is anything with tomato sauce ... chose Iowa State because of the great team atmosphere ... would like to be a college softball coach in the future ... favorite sport other than softball is tennis.
