Jonnee Sulzberger is in her third season working as a dietitian for the Iowa State football program and her fifth season with the program overall.
Sulzberger spent the 2022Â season as an associate of sports nutrition for football after being a registered dietitian intern in 2021-22.
Sulzberger has been on staff for four bowl games after a record-setting 2024 season saw the Cyclones reach and win the Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The Cyclones won a school-record 11 games in 2024, finishing 11-3 overall and reaching the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship game for just the second time in program history.
In her first season as a full-time dietitian for the team, ISU went 7-6 overall and 6-3 in Big 12 action and played in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis.
Along with the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl and 2023 AutoZone Liberty Bowl, Sulzberger has also been a part of teams that have played in the 2021 Cheez-It Bowl and 2020 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.
In her role as an associate, she was lead dietitian responsible for executing comprehensive nutrition support services for developmental roster and incoming players. Sulzberger provided one-on-one consults, individualized meal plans and plate coaching. She was the point of contact for offensive position coaches.
Prior to her time in the athletics department, Sulzberger completed a dietetic internship with Iowa State University, completing more than 600 clinical hours, 160 community hours and 170 food service hours.
Sulzberger earned her bachelor’s degree in dietetics in 2018 and a graduate certificate for didactic internship in 2020. She is a registered dietitian, diet technician registered (DTR) and certified in Adult CPR/AED and Epinephrine Auto-Injector Administration.
