XC: Battled back through injury to rejoin the Cyclones at the Big 12 Championships … closed her storied career at Iowa State with a 51st-place finish at the Big 12 meet in a time of 21:54.6 … earned Academic All-Big recognition.

2016-17

Outdoor: Ran in five meets for Iowa State … toughed out a sixth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run (16:41.87) at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships … also did the 5K at the Drake Relays (16:26.72) and Stanford Invitational (16:39.52), the latter of which she took seventh place in … was winner of 1,500 (4:33.70) at the Tulsa Duels, where she also ran the 800 (2:20.47) … finished fourth in the 1,500 (4:31.24) at the Musco Twilight.

Indoor: Competed in three meets for Iowa State … finished 10th in the 3,000 (9:36.59) and 14th in the 5,000 (16:52.68) at the Big 12 Indoor Championships … was winner of the 3,000 (10:00.78) at the Hawkeye Invitational … also ran the 3,000 (9:35.44) at the Iowa State Classic.

XC: Saw her first cross country action in over a year at the 2016 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational … finished 87^th (21:17) as Iowa State’s No. 4 runner … the Cyclones surged to an eighth-place finish in Brown’s season debut … garnered All-Big 12 honors while helping Iowa State claim its fifth Big 12 Championship in the last six seasons … placed 9^th with a time of 20:58 as one of four All-Big 12 performers for ISU … did not run at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet … finished 128^th (20:57.5) as Iowa State’s No. 2 finisher at the NCAA Championships.

2015-16
Outdoor: Took part in four meets for Iowa State … qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries in the 5,000-meter run, finishing 32nd in 17:06.24 … finished fourth in the 5,000 at the Big 12 Championships … won Drake Relays 5,000-meter run in season-best time of 16:25.19 … made comeback after over a year out of track competition at the Jim Duncan Invitational in the 1,500-meter run, finishing second.

XC: Made her season debut at the Roy Griak Invitational, placing 16th overall with a time of 21:38 in the 6K race ... sat out the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, Big 12 Championship and Midwest Regional ... returned to competition at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, placing 53rd overall with a 6K time of 20:53.5 and helping the team to a runner-up finish.

2013-14
Outdoor: Competed in five races over the outdoor season … posted a career-best in the 5000m at the Stanford Invitational, crossing the line in 16:09.17 … ran on the program record-setting 4x1600m relay team at the Drake Relays, pushing the team to a 19:13.62 finish … was one of five Cyclones to go sub-4:30 in the 1500m at the Payton Jordan Invitational, crossing the line in a PR of 4:28.03 … placed seventh at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in the 10K in 36:12.50.

Indoor: Ran to a great freshman season for the Cyclones, competing in five meets over the indoor slate … opened the season with a career best in the mile, clocking a time of 4:52.74 at the Big 4Duals … worked her way on to the conference podium in both the 3000m (9:19.40) and in the 5000m (16:37.99), placing fifth and sixth at the Big 12 Indoor Championships, respectively … her performances at the conference meet rank her at No. 7 (3K) and No. 8 (5K) in program history … ran as a part of the first and third-fastest women’s DMR squads in program history, helping the relays across the line in 11:11.93 at the Armory Collegiate Invitational and 11:12.86 at the ISU Classic … won the Bill Bergan Invitational 3000m in 9:30.20.

XC: Finished 21st overall in her first collegiate race at the Roy Griak Invitational in a time of 21:26 ... was Iowa State's third runner at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational, finishing in 20:25 ... Placed fifth in 20:36 at the Big 12 Championships to earn all-conference recognition and was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year ... Iowa State's second runner at the NCAA Midwest Regional, placing 3rd overall ... Became the sixth freshman in Cyclone history to garner NCAA All-America accolades, finishing the 6K race in 20:43 and placing 37th.

Before Iowa State
Attended Waterville Senior High School ... Bethanie holds personal bests of 10:13 (3200m), 4:49 (1600m), 2:53 (1000m), 2:15 (800m) and 16:41 (5000m) ... nicknamed 'Maine's Mighty Miler' by Running Times magazine, Brown is a 17-time state champion with noteable titles in the 3200m, 1600m, 800m, 4x400m and in cross country ... has notched multiple top-5 finishes at both the New Balance Indoor and Outdoor National meets, placing as high as third in the 5000m and two mile run.
