Sarah Duysen joined the Iowa State Athletics Communications staff as Assistant Director in June 2023. She serves as the primary contact for women’s basketball, cross country and swimming and diving.
She has covered two women's basketball NCAA Tournament teams, both featuring Audi Crooks, a rising star on the national stage and Iowa State's first freshman to receive All-America honors. In April 2025, Addy Brown and Emily Ryan also became the Cyclones' first CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans since Hallie Christofferson was recognized in 2014.
In the fall of 2024, Duysen covered an Iowa State men's cross country team that featured four All-Americans and ran to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship meet. Said Mechaal led the Cyclones with a top 10 finish while Sanele Masondo, Joash Ruto and Robin Bera rounded out ISU's top 40 finishers. Bera, a freshman on the experienced Cyclones squad, was a also top five individual finisher at both the Nuttycombe Invitational and the Wisconsin Pre-National meet and earned All-Big 12 honors.
Prior to her arrival in Ames, Duysen spent time at High Point University in North Carolina, joining the staff as an assistant director before being promoted to Director of Athletics Communications in August of 2022. During her time at HPU, she handled communications efforts for the women’s basketball, men’s soccer, men’s lacrosse, track & field and cross country teams. Duysen also worked with the baseball and volleyball programs in her first year with HPU.
Duysen holds master's and bachelor's degrees from Northwest Missouri State. While at Northwest, she worked several positions in athletics game day operations and marketing. Returning as a graduate assistant in media relations in the fall of 2020, she worked closely with the women’s basketball, women’s soccer, softball, cross country and track & field teams while assisting with in-game football, volleyball and men’s basketball communications duties.
She is a native of Treynor, Iowa.
