No. 9 Iowa State continued its winning streak over the
Senior Sissy Huey claimed first in the all-around competition with a season-high score of 39.350. Huey, the 2001 Big 12 floor exercise champion, placed in a two-way tie for first on floor exercise scoring a 9.90, her season high on the event. She tied her career-high on the uneven bars with a 9.950 to place first. Huey marked another career scoring record (9.875) on vault, finishing third.
Senior Shelly Kringen placed second in the all-around competition (38.650). The 2001 Big 12 and North Central Region vault champion claimed first on the vault in a two-way tie with Hawkeye Alexis Maday, scoring a 9.90. Kringen tied with Huey for first on floor exercise with a 9.90 to match her season-high mark.
Sophomore Gabby Layne notched a career-high 9.850 on floor exercise to take third place, followed by Cyclone sophomore Sarah Caruthers, who placed fourth with a 9.825.
