AMES, Iowa (AP) - Tyray Pearson and Shane Power each scored 20 points and Iowa State shot 64 percent in the second half in beating Nebraska 85-79 Saturday.
Omar Bynum added a career-high 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Jake Sullivan scored 18 for Iowa State (11-15, 3-9 Big 12), which won for the second straight time after losing eight in a row.
Iowa State made only one field goal in the final 7:42, but sank 11 of 15 free throws to hold off the Cornhuskers (11-12, 4-8). Nebraska trailed 79-78 with 1:41 to play, then missed its last four shots and had a turnover in that stretch.
Brennan Clemmons' free throw left Nebraska trailing 82-79 with 29.9 seconds remaining, but Bynum made a free throw with 21 seconds to go and Sullivan sank two with 10.8 seconds remaining to secure the victory.
Brian Conklin led Nebraska with 20 points.
Nebraska, which set a school record with just three turnovers, went 10-for-19 from 3-point range in building a 43-36 halftime lead. Iowa State started the second half by hitting 12 of its first 15 shots to open a 62-54 lead. The Cyclones never trailed after Bynum's basket made it 53-52 with 14 minutes left.
Nebraska tied it twice after that, the last time at 75 with 3:38 to play before Iowa State regained control with a basket by Bynum and free throws by Bynum and Sullivan.
Nebraska made only four of 16 3-point shots in the second half to finish 14-of-35. Cary Cochran added 14 points for the Cornhuskers, Jake Muhleisen had 13 and Clemmons 10.
