Cal State Northridge got on the scoreboard first when they scored two runs right away in the first inning. The Matadors added two more runs in the second inning and two more in the third. Cal State Northridge led 6-0 after three innings. The Cyclones got on the board late in the fourth inning and scored one run each in the fifth and sixth innings. Senior Kelly Wardein added two hits, Lindsey had one, freshman Ashley Killeen and Jessica Quade each had one as well as junior Kim Rodgers.
Sophomore Kristen Karanzias and freshman Katie Reichling split time on the pitching mound and scattered nine hits over six innings while having two strikeouts and two walks.
