CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Second-seeded Minnesota (10-1) won seven of 10 matches, including a forfeit at heavyweight as the Gophers beat sixth-seeded Iowa State 24-11 in the semifinals of the Cliff Keen National Duals at the UNI-Dome. The loss pits Iowa State (5-3) against fourth-seeded Oklahoma State (9-2) in the 1 p.m. third-place match. OSU was a 27-15 loser to top-seeded Missouri in the other semifinal match.
Iowa State's wins against Minnesota came from Nick Gallick at 133 pounds, Travis Paulson at 165 pounds and Kurt Backes at 197 pounds.
