Katie Reichling and Alex Johnson both finished the game 3-for-6 with two RBI. Courtney Wray had two hits for the Cyclones, including the first double of her career.
Catherine Zaworski led the Boilermakers, going 3-for-4 with a run batted in.
Ashley DiDomenico (2-2) got the win for Purdue. DiDomenico tossed a complete game, striking out five Cyclones in the effort.
Charissa Carlin (0-2) was the losing pitcher, hurling 6.0 innings in relief. Carlin struck out four in relief of Alyssa Ransom, who held the Boilermakers hitless through four innings.
The game was all knotted up heading into the wild 12th inning that saw the Boilermakers outscore the Cyclones, 4-3, and take the 7-6 win. The inning saw a homer and three hits by both teams.
The scoring got started in the third inning. Kelsey Kidwell beat out an infield single to lead off the inning for the Cyclones and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Ashley Killeen. Kidwell got to third after advancing on a groundout by Fallon Johnson and a single by Courtney Wray.
Purdue loaded the bases with just one out in the fifth before the Cyclones were able to work out of the jam. Ransom got Ashley Hall to ground to shortstop, allowing a force out at the plate, and Erika Peterson to strike out swinging to end the threat and maintain the 1-0 Cyclone lead.
The Boilermakers tied it up in the sixth on a Jenna Alexander single that plated pinch runner Amy Butcher. Butcher was running for DaQueta Johnson who was hit by a pitch with one down. Purdue wasn't done as Catherine Zaworski roped a double that scored Alexander's pinch runner, Christina Trauger, from first, putting the Boilermakers up 2-1.
The Cyclones used some late inning magic to tie it up in the bottom of the seventh. Fallon Johnson singled and moved to second on a groundout by Wray.
With the contest still tied after nine innings, the game went to the international tiebreaker. The rule places the team's last out in the previous inning on second base to start the inning.
Purdue took advantage of the rule in its half of the tenth, scoring a run on a wild pitch with two outs.

After the Cyclones held the Boilermakers scoreless in the top of the 11th, Amie Ford pinch ran for Jessica Quade at second. Ford was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Amanda Bradberry but was stranded as the Boilermakers got out of the inning.
Purdue grabbed the lead in the 12th on a triple by Katie Mitchell that scored Ashley Barr. The Boilermakers added to the lead with a double by DaQueta Johnson and a two-run homer by Candace Curtis to break the game open.
The Cyclones made things interesting in the bottom of the 12th as Alex Johnson doubled with two outs to score Fallon Johnson from second. Katie Reichling then followed with her first homer of the season to cut the lead to 7-6. Jennifer Bigbee then singled, but Purdue hurler Ashley DiDomenico was able to get Amie Ford to ground out and end the game.
The Cyclones look to get back on track next weekend when they travel to the Marriott Houston Hobby Invitational, Feb. 23-25.
