DENTON, Texas ? Iowa State used an eight-run third inning to bust open a tie game and cruise to an 11-3 win over Central Arkansas Saturday morning at the Sleep Inn Classic.
The Cyclones (11-2) fell behind in the first as their fielding woes continued. ISU committed three errors as the Bears (7-8) scored three runs to go on top.

ISU tied it at 3-3 in the second on a single by Heidi Kidwell that scored Carrie Monroe.
After a scoreless third inning for Central Arkansas, Iowa State lit up the scoreboard for eight runs in the bottom of the frame.
The inning was highlighted by a two-run double from Jacquelyn Beatty and run-scoring singles by Heidi and Kelsey Kidwell. Carleigh Berry added an RBI double of her own in the inning.
Charissa Carlin (5-1) shut down the Bears the rest of the way to pick up the win. Carlin struck out five in the game.
Iowa State will face Wichita State tonight at 5:30 p.m.
