SPRINGFIELD, Mo. ? Carleigh Berry went 5-for-6 and scored three runs to help Iowa State defeat Missouri State, 6-5, in 13 innings and snap its five-game losing streak Thursday afternoon at Killian Stadium. The Cyclones improve to 17-13 while Missouri State drops to 9-11.
Berry's game included what proved to be the game-winning RBI double in the top of the 13th. The sophomore's five hits were a career high, as were her three runs scored. She also stole her 12th base of the season.

The Cyclones got on the board in the first inning, taking advantage of a pair of hits and a wild pitch to score two runs on the Bears.
Berry got things going with a one-out infield single and advanced to third on Wray's fourth double of the season. Berry scored and Wray moved up to third on a wild pitch and Alex Johnson grounded out to second base to plate Wray, giving ISU a 2-0 edge.
The Bears cut into the lead in the bottom of the second on a single from Raeven Replogle that scored Taylor Farley.
After Missouri State got another run in the third inning, it was Berry who got things rolling again for the Cyclones in the sixth. The sophomore's speed came into play as she reached on another infield single, this one to shortstop, and stole second. After Wray laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Berry to third, Alex Johnson reached on an error that scored Berry and gave ISU the lead back at 3-2.
Wray doubled again in the top of the seventh to score Berry, who had reached on a two-out single, to give the Cyclones an insurance run.
The Cyclones would need the run as Missouri State went on to score a pair of bottom of the seventh runs and send it to extra innings. ISU was fortunate to get it to extra innings as a perfect relay from Heidi Kidwell to Sydni Jones to Johnson cut down potential winning run Jenna Schwark at home for the third out.
The game would remain tied at 4-4 until the top of the 13th inning when Kelsey Kidwell laid down a bunt and Jacquelyn Beatty scored from third on the squeeze play. ISU added another run as Kidwell scored on Berry's double to make it 6-4.
Missouri State would get a leadoff homer in the bottom of the inning from Jessie Smith followed by a single from Jen Carr before Rachel Zabriskie retired the next three batters to snap the Cyclones' skid.
Zabriskie (10-9) won her 10th game of the season and the 25th of her career. Zabriskie allowed just six hits in 10.1 innings of relief. Charissa Carlin was the starting pitcher, but she was chased after just 2.2 innings of work.
The Cyclones will open Big 12 play Saturday at No. 11 Oklahoma. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
