AMES, Iowa - Iowa State made a school-record 16 3-pointers and Chris Allen poured in a career-high 23 points, as the Cyclones held off Northern Colorado, 90-82 Tuesday night in Hilton Coliseum.
Allen had four treys and Tyrus McGee and Chris Babb each made three to help the Cyclones eclipse the old record of 15 treys vs. UW-Milwaukee (Nov. 16, 2008).
Iowa State, which had six players reach double figures, improves to 3-1, while the UNC falls to 0-4.
Iowa State held a 52-39 lead at the break behind outstanding shooting from beyond the arc, as the Cyclones made 8-of-19 from 3-point range in the opening stanza. The game was tied at 21-21 until the Cyclones went on a 16-6 run to open a 37-27 lead with 6:28 before the half.

The Bears would not go away, cutting the lead down to six points again on a Paul Garnica 3-pointer, but Christopherson hit the school-recording-breaking 16th 3-pointer on ISU's next possession to make it 82-75 with under six minutes to play.
Chris Babb had 11 points and made his first three treys to reach 8-straight triples dating back to the Western Carolina game. Royce White finished with a career-high seven assists and had 10 points and eight boards.
