AMES, Iowa – No. 6 Mississippi State (8-0) rallied after intermission in its 85-81 overtime victory over Iowa State (5-1) Saturday afternoon in Hilton Coliseum.

ISU had an opportunity to win it in regulation, but a Jadda Buckley's shot was off the mark to send the game into overtime.

How it Happened

The Bulldogs kept fighting, closing the deficit to nine points under the five-minute mark of the third quarter. However, ISU responded with an 8-2 run to go back up 56-41 with 2:16 left in the third quarter. Meredith Burkhall hit a baseline jumper, followed by treys from Durr and Johnson. All three buckets were assisted by Buckley.
Again, the Bulldogs countered, cutting the lead to seven points (60-53) at the beginning of the fourth quarter. But the Cyclones answered with a big 3-pointer from Carleton off another Buckley assist, putting ISU up 64-53 with six minutes remaining.
