AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Gymnastics team (4-2 1-0 Big 12) had their best performance of the season beating Lindenwood (1-4) by a score of 195.975-194.300 on Sunday afternoon. This afternoon's season-high was highlighted by season bests on bars (49.025) and floor (49.225).
Iowa State used two outstanding performances from Laura Burns and Meaghan Sievers to achieve their season high 195.975. Burns' career day included career bests on bars (9.925) and on floor (9.875), while Sievers matched her career high in the all-around with a 39.425.
Iowa State head coach Jay Ronayne was happy with the way the team used the momentum early on to achieve their best score of the season.
"Coming off of vault and not sticking anything, we just had to keep rolling. Once we started with Maddy's [Langkamp] 9.800 on bars, I felt pretty good. I felt pretty good that the team was able to keep their momentum going, and have success the rest of the way. We had some great performances today, and I am excited to see what's in store for the rest of the season."
Floor Exercise
After tallying their best floor score of the season on Monday at Georgia, the Cyclones bested that scoring a 49.225 this afternoon. Meaghan Sievers posted the highest score out of the Cyclone lineup by tying a career-high 9.900. Laura Burns has had a tremendous week on floor scoring a 9.800 at Georgia and then a career-best 9.875 today. Sophia Steinmeyer also recorded a career-high for ISU notching a 9.850. Maddy Langkamp and Molly Russ both had impressive floor routines scoring a 9.800 as well.

"It has just been really fun to do this with my team. When I stuck the first pass, I knew it was going to be awesome, so it was very exciting and a lot of fun."
Uneven Bars
The Cyclones posted a season-high bars scoring a 49.025 on the day. Laura Burns has a spectacular routine earned a new career-high 9.925. Meaghan Sievers has done very well for ISU on bars scoring a 9.900 on Monday, and a 9.850 today. Iowa State received another 9.800 from Maddy Langkamp, which is her 9.800 of the early seasons. MJ Johnson and Natalie Horowtiz rounded out the group with a 9.750 and a 9.700.

"I was just really excited for bars. I have never gone in the fourth spot before and seeing my teammates hit before got me really excited to go. I know my teammates are behind me and today was just very exciting."
Vault
Iowa State had a solid vault performance to begin the day scoring a 48.925. ISU was led by Meaghan Sievers' 9.875, the senior scoring a 9.875 on vault in consecutive weeks. Kelly Martin recorded her season-best with a 9.800 and both Ariana Orrego and Sophia Steinmeyer added a 9.775. Rounding out the countable scores was Kelsey Boychuk with a 9.700.
Senior Meaghan Sievers
"Today's vault was very exciting. I thought we had a lot better vault rotation here compared to Georgia, which was exciting. It shows that we an improving at every meet this year and this is the direction we want to be going. We have all been working very hard in the gym and it's good to see the results show today."
Balance Beam
Iowa State started their afternoon with a fall, and used the last final five routines to receive their team score of 48.800. Meixi Semple had a wonderful routine scoring a 9.800. Meaghan Sievers also added a 9.800 to her name, while both Molly Russ and Sydney Converse scored 9.775s. Grace Woolfolk tallied a 9.650 for the final countable score for ISU.

"I think we did a tremendous job from the spots of two all the way through six. To be able to have a mistake during the first routine and be able to come back the way they did, is a testament to how hard they have been working in the gym."
All Around
Meaghan Sievers won the all-around competition by tying her career-high 39.425. This was the second time in Sievers' career the senior has scored a 9.800 or better on all four apparatuses at a meet, the other time being in Cancun earlier this month.
