AMES, Iowa - Iowa State women's cross country's Maelle Porcher has been named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after her performance at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet.
Porcher qualified for the 2024 NCAA Championships on Friday, finishing third at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
The Mussidan, France native ran with the lead pack the entirety of the race, steadily improving from sixth to fourth from the 2K to 4K marks of the 6K race. She made her final push into third place, finishing in 19:52.8 to qualify for her third straight NCAA Championship. This marks the 16th consecutive season that the Iowa State women will be represented at the national championship.
Porcher will run the women's 6K at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, November 23. Start time is set for 9:20 a.m. CT at the Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin.
