TUCSON, Arizona. - Iowa State (4-7, 1-3 Big 12) fell to Arizona (8-2, 2-1 Big 12) on Friday night by a score of 194.525 to195.900.  Â
"I'm really proud of the improvement that we made with the start of the meet, that is something that we've been striving for is to start our meets off strong," said Head Coach Ashley Miles Greig. "This is a meet that we probably will wish we could get some turns back, but I think ultimately we got to learn what we can from this and just continue to grow."Â Â
Senior Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa led the Cyclones both on vault and beam, notching a 9.8 on vault and a 9.9 on beam - a new season-best. Bergstrom-Te Slaa would tie for the win on both events. Freshman Frederique Sgarbossa was a high scorer for Iowa State with a 9.85 on bars. Rachel Wilke and Haylee Hardin both tied for the team lead on floor with a pair of 9.85s. Iowa State will be back in Hilton next Friday, for its fifth Big 12 matchup of the season against BYU. Â
Vault (48.575)Â Â Â
Iowa State was led by Bergstrom-Te Slaa on vault this evening with a score of 9.8. Paige Wills followed close behind with a 9.75. Sophomore Noelle Adams also earned a 9.7 for the Cyclones. Bersgtrom-Te Slaa tied with Arizona's Sophie Derr for the vault crown, giving the senior her sixth event win of the season.

Meanwhile, Kaia Bochow scored a 9.825, a new career high, and senior Hannah Loyim scored a 9.775, a season high for her. The team's 48.950 was the second-highest of the season for the Cyclones.
