AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's basketball team has been selected in the NCAA First Four to face Princeton in the NCAA Tournament. The Cyclones will play in their 23rd NCAA Tournament with all appearances coming under head coach Bill Fennelly.
ISU has now made the last six NCAA Tournaments, tied for the 14th-longest streak in the nation.
The Cyclones will play Princeton (21-7, 12-2 Ivy) Wednesday, March 19 at 6 pm in Notre Dame, Ind. at Purcell Pavilion. TV network is to be determined.
Iowa State enters as the No. 11 seed and the winner of the First Four matchup will advance to play No. 6-seed Michigan (22-10, 11-7 Big 10) on Friday, March 21. Notre Dame, a No. 3 seed, is the host and plays No. 14-seed Stephen F. Austin in the First Round.
Iowa State has played in 16 of the last 18 NCAA Tournaments and enter with a 22-11 record this season including going 12-6 in the Big 12.
