Cyclones Finish Day One of the Colleton River Collegiate in Eleventh

BLUFFTON, South Carolina - The Cyclones finish day one of the Colleton River Collegiate in eleventh place. Iowa State carded a 306-295 (+25), and sit two strokes back from Rutgers from the top-10.
Owen Sawyer leads the way for the Cyclones, finishing the day tied for fifteenth. Sawyer shot a 75-72 (+3) and tallied six birdies today. Paul Beauvy is tied for 23rd, where he is currently five over-par. Beauvy carded seven birdies in the first two rounds.
Luke Gutschewski bounced back in the second round after shooting his highest round of the season in the first round. Gutschewski shot a 73 in the second round, carded five birdies today and sits in a tie for 37th. Zach May is tied 55th after shooting a pair of 77's in the first two rounds. Freshman Luke Metcalf finished the day tied for 77th, where he tallied six birdies on the day.
Michigan State is currently in first place in the team race, sitting two under-par as a team. Indiana's Cole Starnes leads the individual race, where he is seven under-par, holding a three stroke lead over the rest of the competition.
The third and final round of the Colleton River Collegiate will be played tomorrow morning, with tee times beginning at 6:55Â a.m. CT.
