PORTSMOUTH, Va. –Iowa State senior Curtis Jones has been selected to play in the 2025 Portsmouth Basketball Invitational Tournament. Team rosters, with eight teams making up the field, will be announced in the near future for the senior showcase, taking place April 16-19.
Jones will be the third Cyclone under T.J. Otzelberger to play in Portsmouth, as Gabe Kalscheur and Osun Osunniyi played in the 2023 event.
The Best Sixth Man in America, Jones appeared in 71 games for the Cyclones with just 10 starts in his two years. He averaged 14.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He led the Cyclones in scoring this season with 17.4 points per game, while being named the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year and to the All-Big 12 First Team. Jones helped the Cyclones to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2024 and the second round in 2025.
Jones averaged 2.59 3-pointers per game this season, the 10th-best in school history, while his 88 3-pointers were tied for the ninth-most in a season in program history. He finished his career with 161 career 3-pointers at Iowa State, ranking ninth in program history, while his 2.27 3-pointers per game over his two years were the fifth-most in program history.
The P.I.T. invites 64 of the best college basketball seniors from across the nation to participate in the four-day, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team.
