Beauvy Wraps Up the Opening Round of NCAA Urbana Regional

URBANA, Illinois - Iowa State junior Paul Beauvy is tied for 33rd after the first round of the NCAA Urbana Regional.

Beauvy shot a 73 (+2) in the opening round, starting things off with a birdie on his first hole of the day. Beauvy then bogeyed Holes 5 and 7 to shoot one over-par on the front nine. Two more bogeys on Holes 13 and 16 were followed by a birdie on the Par 3 17th to finish two-over on the day.

Beauvy shot even-par on the Par 3's today, good for the sixth-best score in the field. The junior from Saint-Alban, France tallied 12 pars, tied for 13th most after the first day.

Of the 10 individuals selected, Beauvy is in fifth and four strokes off the lead with two rounds left to go.

Beauvy will tee off for the second round at 10:12 a.m. CT tomorrow morning at the Atkins Golf Club in Urbana, Illinois.
