Tyrese Haliburton and the 4-seed Indiana Pacers knocked off the Milwaukee Bucks in five games to advance to the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Haliburton was sensational throughout the series, recording four double-doubles and dishing a series-high 15 assists in Game 4.Â
In Game 1, Haliburton posted a 10-7-12 line as the Pacers secured the win. He followed that up in Game 2 with 21 points, five rebounds, and 12 assists to give Indiana a 2–0 series lead. Despite a Game 3 loss — their only defeat of the series — Haliburton added 14 points, seven boards, and 10 assists.Â
Game 5 was Haliburton's defining moment. He scored 26 points, grabbed five rebounds, and handed out nine assists, leading Indiana to an improbable comeback. Down by 20 in the second half and trailing by seven with under a minute to play, the Pacers rallied to win 120–119—only the third such comeback in the playoffs since 1997. Haliburton sealed the victory with a game-winning layup with just one second remaining.Â
A week after being named the league's "Most Overated Player," Haliburton let his critics know after the opening round win.
