Alberto Vilar Becomes First-Ever Cyclone To Advance To Main Draw

Cary, N.C. – Mari Paz Alberto Vilar became the first player in Cyclone history to advance to the ITA All-American Championships Main Draw, after defeating No. 72 Mia Slama from NC State in a three-set thriller.
With the win, Alberto Vilar has now won all five matches in the tournament and has knocked off top-100 opponents in back-to-back matches. The sophomore will try and continue her success in the main draw on Wednesday, opponent and time TBA.
