Cyclones In Sixth After Two Rounds Of Chevron Collegiate

HUMBLE, TX- The Cyclonitas headed to Texas for the second week in a row, this time for the Chevron Collegiate. In a stacked field, Iowa State made a late surge in their second round to move up to a tie for sixth. The Cyclones shot four-over in round one and an impressive three-under in round 2. With one round to play, the Cyclones trail the leaders, North Carolina, by 16 shots.Â
Nichakorn Pinprayoon started where she left off after shooting a two-round total of one-under. Pinprayoon scored even in her first round and one under in her second. Pinprayoon sits in a tie for 19th with five birdies and an eagle on her card. Pammy Chookaew matched Pinprayoon after also totaling one-under in her rounds to also place herself in a tie for 19th. Chookaew started off with a two-under round and ended her day with a nice one-over round.Â
Alexandra Vidal placed third for the Cyclones after shooting one-over. Vidal sits in a tie for 31st after an even and one-over round. Vidal snagged eight birdies and an eagle in her rounds. Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn was a big reason the Cyclones had a late surge with four straight birdies in her round two. Chul-Ak-Sorn started a little slow with a round one of five-over but made it back with a team low round of three-under. Chul-Ak-Sorn sits in a tie for 41st and grabbed nine birdies from her rounds.Â
Isabella Yan rounded out the Cyclones, placing in a tie for 72nd after shooting nine-over after two rounds. Yan's splits were five-over and four-over, with four birdies to go along with it.Â
The Cyclonitas will tee it back up for tomorrow's final round at 8:00am.
