AMES, Iowa – Iowa State juniors Audi Crooks and Jada Williams have been recognized as WBCA All-America Regional Finalists. It is the third time Crooks has made the regional list and the first time for Williams.
A unanimous First-Team All-Big 12 Conference player for the third-straight season, Crooks is averaging a league-best 25.5 points per game while shooting nearly 65 percent from the floor as the nation's second leading scorer. The 6-3 center is one of only two players in NCAA Division I basketball (men's or women's) to average at least 25.5 points per game while shooting at least 64.7 percent from the floor. The other was Iowa's Megan Gustafson in 2017-18 and 2018-19. Gustafson won the Lisa Leslie Award in 2019. Crooks scored her 2,000th career point in her 89th game, becoming the fastest Big 12 women's basketball player to reach the milestone. The Algona, Iowa native averaged 7.8 rebounds while recording 12 double-doubles this season. She has scored in double figures in 97 consecutive games, the longest active streak nationally, and is the only player in the country to record multiple 40-point games this season.
Williams arrived in Ames following two seasons with Arizona where she averaged 12.7 points per game as a sophomore, increasing her average to 13.4 points per contest during conference play. As a Cyclone, the Kansas City, Missouri native has averaged 15.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 7.7 assists per contest. Her assist rate has increased by over 4.5 dimes per game from last season (2.9 apg) and she has nearly tripled her 2024-25 assist total (87). In conference play, Williams averaged 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game. The 5-8 guard earned First-Team All-Big 12 status, her first all-conference recognition in the league. She knocked down a career-high six 3-pointers en route to a career-high 28 points against Baylor (Jan. 4) in Hilton Coliseum, the seventh 20-plus point game of her career. The Kansas City native bested her career high, pouring in 44 points against Cincinnati (Jan. 21) with six 3-pointers to finish with the ISU all-time top point total in Hilton Coliseum and in a Big 12 Conference game. She followed up with 19 points and seven assists against Arizona and earned Big 12 Player of the Week status for her efforts. It was the first player of the week award she has earned in her career. Williams tallied 16 points and a career-high 14 assists at Houston (Dec. 31) for her sixth double-double of the season. Williams had not recorded a double-double in her collegiate career prior to this season.
