IRVING, Texas – Three Iowa State Cyclones were named to various All-Big 12 Men's Basketball Teams Monday by the league coaches.
Senior Tamin Lipsey was named the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while also earning a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team and the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. Senior Joshua Jefferson was named to the All-Big 12 First Team, while junior Milan Momcilovic was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
Lipsey is the third different Cyclone to be named the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, joining Melvin Ejim (2013 & 2014) and Michael Jacobson (2019). This is the third year Lipsey has been named to an All-Big 12 Team, as he was a first team selection in 2024 and a third team selection last season. He is the eighth player in program history to be named to the first, second or third team three different times. This is the third-time Lipsey has been named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team, marking just the sixth-time in league history someone has been named to the team three times. The senior averaged 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists, helping his hometown school to a top 10 national ranking. The communications studies major holds a 3.73 GPA.
Jefferson is the 18th player in program history to be named to the all-conference first or second team multiple times. He was Mr. Do-It-All once again for the Cyclones, as he became the first player in Big 12 history to turn in multiple triple-doubles in Big 12 play. He's averaging 16.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5. assists and 1.6 steals per game. He's the only Power Conference player in the country to average those numbers. Only five players have done so in an entire season in the country going back to 1974-75, with no one in the Big 12 having accomplished it. Jefferson has scored in double figures in all 31 games this season, while his streak of 37-straight games going back to last season ranks as the fourth-longest in the nation.
Momcilovic is regarded as the best shooter in the country and has proved it all season. He's 114-of-228 from 3-point range, setting the Iowa State single-season mark in 3-pointers that was previously held by Dedric Willoughby with 102. He's on pace to set the Cyclone single-season 3-point percentage record as well. He made 64 3-pointers in Big 12 play, tied for the third-most in a season in league history. At 6'8", he's the first power conference player at that height to shoot over 50 percent from 3-point range in college basketball history.
The Cyclones return to action Wednesday morning, as fifth-seeded Iowa State faces either 12th-seeded Arizona State or 13th-seeded Baylor in the 2026 Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament Second Round at the T Mobile Center in Kansas City. Tipoff is set for 11:30 a.m. on ESPN or ESPN2.
