EUGENE, Ore. – Joash Ruto reached the podium while Robin Kwemoi Bera earned Second Team All-America to close NCAA Championships on the men's side.
The Iowa State men and women have now scored at every indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships for three-straight seasons. It is the first time the Cyclones have done so since 1989-91.
With Ruto's finish, the Iowa State men as a team place 51st with three points at 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Ruto is a First Team All-American in the 3,000m steeplechase once again as the sophomore placed sixth. Ruto who had a season best in prelims, improved on his time in the final with 8:25.14.
It is Ruto's fourth All-America honor, with two in cross country and two in track and field.
Kwemoi Bera, who earned Second Team All-America in the 10,000m Wednesday, picked up another second team honor taking 10th in the 5,000m final.
With two laps to go, Bera made moves up the pack to secure the placement timing in at 13:51.83. Bera ends his sophomore season totaling six career All-America honors, with four in track.
NCAA Championships conclude tomorrow with women's finals. Rachel Joseph runs in the 400m at 8:02 p.m. CT and Mercyline Kirwa and Betty Kipkore run the 5,000m at 8:55 p.m.
