Kicking Off
Fans will get their first chance to see the 2026 Iowa State soccer team on Wednesday, as the Cyclones take on Minnesota in the team's lone exhibition contest of the season.
ISU returns five starters from its 2025 squad and welcomes in 15 newcomers – the majority transfers. Freshmen forward standouts Megan Walters and Sophie Forrester highlight the returners, while seven of the 11 transfers are coming from Power 4 programs.
Minnesota will face the Cyclones in an exhibition matchup for the third time in the last four seasons. The Gophers went 6-8-3 in 2025, finishing 15th in the Big Ten. In the 2026 Preseason Poll, Minnesota was picked to finish 14th.
