Trent Slattenow is in his fourth season with the Iowa State football program. He currently serves as the program's director of player personnel. During his time as a student and full-time staff member, ISU has made a bowl game in six of seven seasons.
The Ankeny, Iowa, native assists in all aspects of recruiting for the Cyclone coaching staff.
Slattenow has been a part of a pair of teams that reached the Big 12 Championship game, including the 2024 team that posted the greatest season in school history. That team finished the season 11-3 overall, reaching double-digit victories for the first time in program history. It went on to win the Pop-Tarts Bowl, defeating No. 15 Miami in thrilling fashion, 42-41. ISU finished the 2024 season ranked No. 15 in the final AP Top 25.
The Cyclones have had two recruiting classes have ranked among the Top 40 nationally with Slattenow on staff. The 2022 class was the top-ranked class in school history.
Slattenow worked as a recruiting student assistant for Iowa State from 2018-21.
He is a 2022 graduate of Iowa State with a bachelor’s degree in management.
