Jayrone Elliott is in his first season as the Iowa State football program’s director of student-athlete development.
Elliott played for Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell at Toledo (2010-13) and spent six seasons in the NFL despite going undrafted. He played three seasons for the Green Bay Packers and had stints with the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers. Elliott last played in the NFL during the 2020 season with the Steelers.
While in the NFL, Elliott was a three-time Good Guy Award nominee (2014-16) and was Walter Payton Man of the Year Finalist in 2016. He also won the Ed Block Courage Award for the Packers in 2016.
Since retiring from the NFL, the Cleveland, Ohio, native founded Elliott Elite Youth in Frisco, Texas and served as a program coordinator, creating regular community service events.
Since 2024, Elliott was an NFL Legends team member, working with the NFL and NFLPA in event planning and alumni mentorship.
He earned his bachelor's degree in liberal studies from Toledo.
Elliott and his wife Keara have three children, sons Braylon and Bleu, and daughter Brileigh.
