CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Iowa State took second place at the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational hosted by Oregon State. Oregon State slipped by the Cyclones (195.100) to take first (195.525).ISU bested competitors from Washington (194.500) and UC-Davis (191.500).
On vault, sophomore Janet Anson took second-place honors with a 9.900. Freshman Lindsey Murphy posted a career-high 9.775 to tie for sixth, with ISU juniors Erin Dethloff and Laura-Kay Powell.
Washington's Kelly McDonald took first-place honors on the bars (9.900), while Chelsea Plourde and Carly Dockendorf tied for second (9.900).
Oregon State took the top three spots on beam behind junior Chrissy Lamun (9.875), senior Heidi Goehring (9.85) and Plourde (9.825). Powell tied for fourth (9.80).
Iowa State rebounded on the floor with Anson tying for first (9.90) along with Oregon State's Theresa Videan. Dethloff shared second (9.850) with the Beavers' Heather Justus.
Anson placed first in the all-around (39.325), her sixth all-around title of the season. Powell claimed second (39.100), in third was Dockendorf (38.750) and Dethloff finished fourth (38.350).
The Cyclones competed without the help of redshirt freshman Jade Kvach, who was sidelined by an injury.
