COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The Iowa State women's soccer team completed its weekend at the Colorado College Invitational by falling to host Colorado College, 1-0, on Sunday. Tiger freshman Emily Beans scored her fourth goal of the season just 70 seconds into the match.
With the win, Colorado College improved to 5-1-0 and Iowa State fell to 3-6-0. Colorado College extended its current winning streak to four games.
After falling behind early, Iowa State fought back, taking four shots on goal. But, the lone Tiger goal was enough for Colorado College to hold on for the win. The Tigers had five shots on goal.
Sophomore Leslie Hill led the Cyclones with four shots. Junior Brittanie Waddell and freshman Elise Reid also took shots for the Cyclones.
Iowa State goalkeeper Ann Gleason and Colorado College goalkeeper Geneva Sills had four saves each in the match.
Iowa State returns home for back-to-back home matches at the ISU Soccer Complex. The Cyclones face North Dakota State (3-2-1) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ISU hosts Nebraska (5-1-2) to open Big 12 Conference play on Sunday at 1 p.m. The first 120 Iowa State students at each match will receive free food by showing their student ID card at the concession stand.
