JACKSONVILLE, Fla. ? Jacksonville scored five first-inning runs and held off Iowa State to hand the Cyclones their first loss, 5-3, of the 2009 season Saturday at the Jacksonville Tournament. The loss snaps ISU's seven-game winning streak.
Jacksonville (2-7) jumped all over Iowa State, tagging sophomore Rachel Zabriskie (4-1) for five runs, none of which were earned, in the opening frame. The Cyclones (7-1) didn't help Zabriskie, committing three errors in the inning.

Alex Johnson led off the inning with a double before advancing to third on a wild pitch. Sydni Jones then turned on a Sarah Sigrest pitch, lifting her third homer of the season over the wall in left center to cut the lead to 5-2.
The teams went down quietly in the third and the game was delayed by rain for over an hour prior to the fourth inning.
In the fifth inning, Carrie Monroe was hit by a pitch and came around to score on Bianca Lopez's first career triple. Lopez was caught in a rundown on the next at bat and it was all the closer the Cyclones would get as they were held without a hit in the final two innings.
The Cyclones had a season-low four hits in the loss.
Iowa State wraps up tournament play Sunday with games against Jacksonville and Presbyterian at 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., respectively.
