FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Rachel Zabriskie tossed a two-hitter as Iowa State defeated Arkansas, 2-1, Saturday night at the Razorback Invitational to get back to .500 on the season. Iowa State improves to 10-10 this season.
Zabriskie (10-5) tossed a three-hitter, allowing just one run to pick up her 42nd career win. Zabriskie fanned 12 in the game.
The Cyclones got on the board in the top of the second on a bunt by Erica Miller that scored Sydni Jones, who singled to lead off the inning.
ISU tacked on another in the fifth when Carleigh Berry scored on a throwing error by the Razorbacks.
Arkansas cut into the lead in the seventh on a solo homer by Miranda Dixon, but Zabriskie prevented the Razorbacks from knotting it up.
Layna McGuirt (3-2) took the loss for the Razorbacks, allowing two runs on seven hits.
The Cyclones wrap up tournament play Sunday at 9 a.m. against No. 19 Louisiana-Lafayette.
