STILLWATER, Okla. – The Iowa State Cyclones (1-4, 0-2 Big 12) fell to No. 21 Oklahoma State (3-1, 2-0 Big 12),37-20, in Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma Saturday afternoon.
Keys of the Game
Iowa State jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two 34-yard field goals by Cole Netten in the first half. The Cyclones' second field goal was made possible after an interception by Nigel Tribune, followed by a 53-yard catch-and-run from quarterback Sam Richardson to running back DeVondrick Nealy.
Oklahoma State would go on to score 13 unanswered points to take a 13-6 halftime lead.
After returning the opening kickoff for a 20-6 lead, Iowa State came back firing on their first drive after the half with an 11-play, 71-yard drive that resulted in a 17-yard one-handed catch by tight end E.J. Bibbs to bring Iowa State within seven of the Cowboys, 20-13.
The Cowboys' offense would start clicking in the second half rattling off 17-straight points before Iowa State would score the final touchdown of the game for a 37-20 OSU win.
Offensive Players of Note...
Richardson led Iowa State through the air, going 17-of-39 for 200 yards and connecting with eight different Iowa State receivers.
Running back Aaron Wimberly led Iowa State on the ground with 10 carries for 39 yards. In addition to his 200 yards through the air, Richardson picked up 34 on the ground.
Bibbs led the Cyclones in receiving yards with six catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensive Players of Note...
*Sam Richardson and Nigel Tribune each recorded interceptions in the first half, with Richardson recording the first in his career and Tribune the second.

*DeVondrick Nealy's 53-yard catch was a career long and the longest for the Cyclones this season.
*Tom Farniok started his 40th career game, the fourth-best total of any active Big 12 player.
* E.J. Bibbs has caught a pass in 17-straight games, breaking the school record for consecutive games with a catch by a tight end. His 17-game streak ties for 12th all-time among Cyclone receivers.
*Punter Colin Downing recorded his seventh 50-plus yard punt of the season with a 52-yard second-half punt.
*Sam Richardson's 25 career touchdown passes ties for sixth all-time in school history.
*Cole Netten remains perfect on the season and is 4-4 in field goals and 13-13 in PAT
