FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 4 TCU (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) defeated Iowa State (2-10, 0-9 Big 12) by a score of 55-3 in Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
How It Happened
TCU would start things off quick, grabbing two touchdowns in the first quarter, but Iowa State would respond when kicker Cole Netten drilled a 26-yard field goal to bring the Cyclones within two scores, 14-3.
The Cyclones halted a late TCU drive in the end zone after defensive back Sam E. Richardson intercepted a pass by Heisman contender Trevone Boykin to give the Cyclones the ball back with 47 seconds remaining and hold the score manageably at 17-3.
The Iowa State defense held the Horned Frogs to just 17 first-half points, which was the second-lowest output by TCU this season in the first half. The defensive performance kept the Cyclones close against the nation's fourth-ranked scoring offense.
TCU would start off the second half engineering a four play, 75-yard drive to make the score 24-3. Iowa State would be unable to come back from the deficit, falling 55-3. Boykin would lead the Horned Frogs going30-of-41 through the air for 460 yards.

Running back Aaron Wimberly has 17 carries for 73 yards to lead the Cyclones on the ground.
Wide receiver Jarvis West led the Iowa State receiving corps with five catches for 63 yards, while wide receiver D'Vario Montgomery finished the game with four catches for 42 yards in just one quarter of play.
Defensive Players of Note...
Sam E. Richardson recorded his fourth interception of the season with an interception Boykin in the end zone with 47 seconds left in the first half to halt the TCU drive. His four interceptions is the most by a Cyclone since Jake Knott recorded four picks in 2010.
Defensive back Josh Jahlas recorded his first career fumble recovery, while linebacker Kane Seeley grabbed his first career forced fumble.
