MINNEAPOLIS - The Cyclones began their 2015 season on the road against No. 17 Minnesota, with the host Golden Gophers earning the win 194.950-193.475.
Beginning the season ranked at No. 25, Iowa State was led by Caitlin Brown who received an all-around score of 39.050, earning her second place individually. Other all around competitors were freshmen Kelsey Paz, who ended with a score of 38.500, and Haylee Young, who posted a 38.425.
Uneven Bars:
Caitlin Brown earned the highest score for the Cyclones on uneven bars with a 9.775, followed by freshman Hilary Green who received a 9.750. The team also posted two scores of 9.675 from Sammie Pearsall and Kelsey Paz, bringing the team total on uneven bars to 48.475.
Floor Exercise:
Freshman Haylee Young earned Iowa State's highest score of the night on floor with a 9.825. Hilary Green followed up with the teams second highest score on the floor exercise-a 9.750. Caitlin Brown also performed well on floor, contributing a 9.725 to the Cyclone's total floor score of 48.350.
Balance Beam:
Iowa State earned a total beam score of 48.350. Senior Caitlin Brown and junior Alex Marasco tied for second place at the meet with a score of 9.775. Freshman Kelsey Paz earned the Cyclone's third highest score on beam with a 9.650.
Vault:
Caitlin Brown and freshman Haylee Young lead Iowa State on vault with scores of 9.775 and 9.750, respectively. Kelsey Paz posted the next highest score for Iowa State with a 9.650. The Cyclones received a vault score of 48.300.

Iowa State will be taking on Oregon State and Southeast Missouri State on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 2:00 p.m. during the Beauty and the Beast event at Hilton Coliseum.
