AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State gymnastics team will be hosting a tri-meet Illinois State and Gustavus Adolphus on Friday night in Hilton Coliseum. The meet will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will mark the Cyclones final home meet of the season.
Last Friday, the Cyclones competed at No. 13 Missouri, defeating the No. 14 program in the nation, George Washington, and Lindenwood. Iowa State recorded its highest vault score of the season with a 49.000 to help record a 195.350.
For their final meet in Hilton Coliseum in 2017, the Cyclones will be celebrating Random Act of Kindness Day as well as hosting a Family Fun Night. The first 300 fans to arrive at the meet will receive a free t-shirt and there will be several opportunities to win more ISU apparel and gift cards throughout the meet. The gymnastics team would also like to offer free admission to Friday's meet to all Iowa State faculty and staff, who can show his/her ISU ID at any entrance.
The Cyclones will also be collecting new or used shoes at the meet for the Iowa State student-athlete Soles4Souls shoe drive at Friday's meet. Fans are encourage to donate shoes to help the team in their mission to fight poverty.
