AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's basketball team (6-1, 0-0 Big 12) took down the Arkansas Razorbacks (5-3, 0-0) in a shootout, 91-82. The game was also a part of the SEC-Big 12 Series being played today.
It was a team effort for Bill Fennelly's team as Iowa State had four players reach double figures including 20-point performances from Bridget Carleton and Kristin Scott.
How It Happened
The Cyclones close the half on a 10-2 run that put the Cyclones in the lead 37-33 at the intermission. Iowa State played exception defense in the first, holding the razorbacks to just 33 percent shooting in the first half The Cyclones also outrebounded Arkansas, 18-15 in the first half.
The Cyclones struggled from deep in the game, but were hitting from just about everywhere else. ISU shot 34-69 from the field and connected on 15-19 free throw attempts.
The Cardinal and Gold controlled most of the game, holding a 14-point lead into the fourth quarter, but the Razorbacks would not go quietly. They chipped away at the Iowa State lead and cut the score to 85-82 with three minutes to play. Iowa State answered and closed the game out on a 6-0 run to cap off their sixth victory of the season.
Players of Note
Bridget Carleton was Iowa State's Swiss army knife in this one. She tallied 24 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for 13th career double-double. She also was active in getting her teammates the ball, recording four assists.
Kristin Scott gave Iowa State a huge life off the bench. The sophomore scored 21 points in 24 minutes of action. Eight of Scott's points came from the free throw line where she shot 8-10. She also pulled down seven rebounds and swatted two shots on the defensive end.

Iowa State will head to Iowa City where they will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. That game is scheduled for Wednesday Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. It will be broadcast on BTN Plus.
