AMES, Iowa -- The No. 16 Iowa State wrestling team (4-1, 2-0 Big 12) is headed out East for a pair of duals this weekend. They'll get the road trip started with a contest against Rider (4-2, 2-0) in Lawrenceville on Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT in Alumni Gym.
The Cyclones are riding a three-match winning streak and are looking to avenge a 22-15 loss suffered to the Broncs last season in Ames.

-No. 16Â Iowa State will set out for a two-dual road trip on the east coast. The Cyclones will open up the weekend on Thursday night as they take on Rider and then close out the weekend with a contest against Big 12-foe West Virginia in Morgantown.
-The Cyclones and Broncs have met on three prior occasions with ISU holding the series lead at 2-1. Last year in Ames, Rider notched their first victory against Iowa State as the Broncs won a 22-15 contest in Stephens Auditorium.
-On Tuesday, head coach Kevin Dresser announced the addition of Ben Durbin to the Iowa State wrestling coaching staff as the team's new Volunteer Assistant Coach.
-ISU entered the NWCA/USA Today National Coaches' Poll for the first time since Nov. 1, 2016 earlier this season. This week the Cyclones are ranked No. 16.
Individually, Iowa State has seven wrestlers ranked across the board. Austin Gomez (7, 7, 7), Ian Parker (14, 18, 12), Jarrett Degen (11, 12, 7), Marcus Coleman (NR, NR, 22), Sam Colbray (19, 17, 14) and Willie Miklus (6, 6, 6) all stand in the national InterMat, FloWrestling and Trackwrestling rankings. Alex Mackall is ranked at No. 18 in the WIN Magazine poll, as well.
-Scoring points has been a point of emphasis for the Cyclones in 2018-19. In five dual matches this season, ISU is averaging 8.2 points per dual match.Â
-The scoring output has been a team effort for Kevin Dresser's squad. The Cyclones have seven wrestlers who are averaging eight or more points per dual match including four who are averaging 10 or more points per dual contest.
-Austin Gomez and Jarrett Degen have been trailblazers for Iowa State's offensive output. Degen leads the team in takedowns with 24, averaging just under five per dual contest. Gomez leads the team in nearfall points having already scored 26 season. He leads the team in dual-match scoring putting up 13.4 points per dual match. Both are a perfect 5-0 on the year in dual contests.
-ISU wrestlers are averaging 3.9 team points per dual victory this season.
-Austin Gomez, Ian Parker, Jarrett Degen, Marcus Coleman and Sam Colbray are all unbeaten in duals this season.
-Freshman Logan Schumacher made his Hilton Coliseum debut against Fresno State, recording an 11-6 victory.
-Since falling to in-state rival Iowa in December, the Cyclones are 3-0 in duals with wins over Ohio (33-6), and Big 12 opponents No. 23 North Dakota State (29-7) and Fresno State (31-6).
