No. 20 Iowa State Ready For Cy-Hawk Showdown

AMES, Iowa – The No. 20 Iowa State gymnastics team (8-6, 1-2 Big 12) is set to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. The Cyclones have won the last five Cy-Hawk meets in Hilton Coliseum.
The Cyclones are on a stretch of five-straight scores above a 196, earning Big 12 weekly honors in each of the last four weeks. Most recently, Andrea Maldonado has claimed back-to-back Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week awards for superb performances on both floor and vault. Against Michigan State, her 9.950 helped push the Cyclones to a 49.425 on the event, their highest score of the year and second score that high since 2006.
The meet is set for 6:30 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. Fans are encouraged to wear Cardinal in support of the Cyclones. Prior to the meet, there will be carnival games and festivities in the concourse and students will enjoy free pizza prior to the meet. Iowa State's junior and senior gymnasts will be signing autographs following the meet.
