AMES, Iowa – Iowa State opens the dual portion of the schedule on Saturday, Nov. 27 against Army and California Baptist. Head coach Kevin Dresser enters his fifth season at the helm of the Cyclone wrestling program in 2021-22. Iowa State finished T-13th at the 2021 NCAA Championships, headlined by 157-pound national champion David Carr. The Cyclones qualified eight wrestlers for the NCAA Championships, with six of those eight returning to the 2021-22 Cyclone squad.

KEY STORYLINES
-The Cyclones opened the season at the Daktronics Open last weekend, taking home four titles. Kysen Terukina (125), Zach Redding (141), Jarrett Degen (149) and David Carr (157) all won titles.
-Iowa State also had four other wrestlers finish second, as Corey Cabanban (125), Joel Devine (174), Marcus Coleman (184) and Sam Schuyler (285) all reached the finals.
-David Carr went 5-0 at the NCAA Championships last season, becoming Iowa State's 50th individual to win a national title and the 70th individual national champion overall in school history. Carr won the title without allowing a takedown in the tournament.
-Following the season, Carr was named a finalist for the Dan Hodge Trophy.
-Degen returns in 2021-22 after becoming Iowa State's 46th four-time NCAA Qualifier with a fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship.
-Terukina and Redding were two of 26 true freshmen in the 2021 NCAA Championships. ISU's two were the second-most of any team in the field.
