AMES, Iowa – The 10th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones return to Hilton Coliseum for the first Big 12 home match of the season against the North Dakota State Bison. Originally scheduled as a double dual with Utah Valley, Sunday will just be a single dual against the Bison with the dual against Utah Valley being postponed. Sunday's match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with live results available on TrackWrestling.com.
KEY STORYLINES
-The Cyclones and Bison enter the match with two of the longest winning streaks in the Big 12. Iowa State has won six-straight matches, while the Bison have won five-straight matches.
-Iowa State and North Dakota State share a pair of common opponents in California Baptist and Wyoming. Iowa State beat CBU 25-9 and Wyoming 32-6, while the Bison beat CBU 43-3 and Wyoming 22-14.
-This will be the ninth all-time meeting between the Cyclones and Bison, but just the third in Ames. Six of the previous meetings came in Fargo. The Cyclones have won four-straight against NDSU.
-In the two meetings in Ames, Iowa State has scored 22 points in a pair of 22-16 (2020) and 22-18 (2012) victories.
-The Cyclones are coming off a weekend trip to Wyoming and Montana, in which Iowa State outscored its three opponents 130-6.
-Iowa State opened the Big 12 portion of the schedule on Friday, Jan. 14 against Wyoming with a 32-6 victory over the Cowboys.
-In the 2022 portion of the schedule, Iowa State is 5-0, having won 48 of 50 matches. The two losses over the five duals came against top 12 opponents. Of the 48 victories, 33 have come with bonus points.
