INSIDE THE SERIES
Overall:Â First Meeting
FOUR THINGS
8 – Iowa State is at No. 8 in this week's AP Top 25. It marks the 11th-straight week that the Cyclones have been ranked inside the AP Top 10, the second-longest run in program history.
10 – Assists by Emily Ryan against North Carolina on Sunday, her ninth career game in double figures for assists.
868 – The Cyclones have made at least one 3-point field goal in an NCAA-record 868 consecutive games, a streak which encapsulates the entirety of the Bill Fennelly Era at Iowa State.
2,497 – Ashley Joens enters Tuesday's game with 2,497 career points to her name. Iowa State's all-time leading scorer can become the fifth player in Big 12 history to reach 2,500 points in her career.
SOAR(ES)ING TO NEW HEIGHTS
Stephanie Soares continues to make incredible progress in her lone season with Iowa State. The two-time NAIA National Player of the Year has shown that her game translates to another level, as she averaged 21.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game at the Phil Knight Invitational last week, earning PKI All-Tournament Team honors and the Big 12 Player of the Week award.
Â
A NEW STREAK
Ashley Joens only scored eight points against Michigan State on Thursday, ending her 59-game streak of scoring in double figures. The opportunity for a new streak presented itself via her scoring 18 points (including three 3-pointers) against UNC on Sunday night. Joens has 275 career 3-pointers, good for No. 4 in Iowa State history.
