BLAST FROM THE PAST - THE DRESSER BUMP
Iowa State and Cornell met at last year's Collegiate Duals and the dual delivered one of the season's most memorable moments. After an injury to ISU heavyweight Sam Schuyler in a previous dual and no backup available on the road, Coach Dresser was forced to get creative with his lineup if Iowa State had any hope of beating No. 12 Cornell.
Trailing 13-9 with three matches remaining, Joel Devine, Marcus Coleman and Yonger Bastida all wrestled up a weight class at 184, 197 and 285 pounds, respectively. They rattled off three consecutive victories to win the dual for the Cyclones, 18-13.
In the heavyweight match to decide the dual, Bastida gave up nearly 60 pounds to his opponent, No. 15 Lewis Fernandes, but still came out on top, 4-2.
Long live The Dresser Bump 👊

CYCLONES, PITT MEET AGAIN
This will mark the first of two meetings for Iowa State against Pittsburgh this season. The Cyclones also host the Panthers in Ames Jan. 14.
The two schools met last season with Iowa State squeaking out a 16-15 victory on criteria (match points: 51-44). It was just the fourth dual in program history to be decided by criteria.
With one match remaining and Iowa State trailing 15-12, No. 12 Sam Schuyler, delivered a dual-winning takedown with less than 15 seconds remaining in the heavyweight bout to defeat No. 5 Dayton Pitzer, 4-3.
