FOUR THINGS
15 – Now at 2,957 career points, Ashley Joens is now 16th in NCAA Division I Women's Basketball history for careers coring.
17 – With two more 3-pointers, Iowa State will have at least 250 3-pointers in a season for the 17th time in program history, all coming under head coach Bill Fennelly.
154 – Ashley Joens is the new BIg 12 leader for career games played at 154, taking down the previous record of 153 by TCU's Lauren Heard. Third place on the list is an opponent on Friday, with Baylor's Ja'Mee Asberry at 152 games.
890 – The Cyclones have made at least one 3-point field goal in an NCAA-record 890 consecutive games, a streak which encapsulates the entirety of the Bill Fennelly Era at Iowa State.
BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The exciting news came on Monday that Ashley Joens was the 2022-23 Big 12 Player of the Year, joining Bridget Carleton in 2018-19 as the only Cyclones to win conference player of the year. Joens continued to add to her award arsenal on Thursday when she was named as one of 10 semifinalists for the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy, given to the country's top player.
CHAIRWOMAN OF THE BOARDS
Emily Ryan does a little bit of everything for Iowa State, but an area of her game that has grown this season has been on the boards. The All-Big 12 Second Team selection averages 5.5 rebounds per game and has four points-rebounds double-doubles on the season. The Cyclones are 4-0 when Ryan gets a points-rebounds double-double this season.
